Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Announces Power Outages Schedule Across Kashmir for October
The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced multiple power shutdowns in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir throughout October 2024. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate construction, maintenance, and augmentation work on power lines and infrastructure. According to the Chief Engineer of Distribution at KPDCL, the shutdowns will affect numerous 33/11KV receiving stations and the power supply to the following areas:
Pulwama, Tahab, Koil, Pinglena, and Tenghar
Reason: Construction of the 33KV Pulwama 2nd Circuit under Phase II from 160 MVA GIS Lassipora.
Dates: October 17, 19, 21, and 23, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 5 PM.
Kadlabal Pampore
Reason: Augmentation of the 33KV Pampore-Pulwama line.
Date: October 16, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 5 PM.
Keller, Shadimarg, Moshwara, and Kanipora
Reason: Erection of poles for the 11 KV Moshwara feeder (segregation and reconductoring works).
Dates: October 17 and 19, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 5 PM.
Zainakote, Shalteng, and Bakshipora
Reason: Preventive maintenance works (tree looping, branch cutting) on various 33 KV lines.
Date: October 16, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
SH Pora, MR Gunj, Shreen Bagh, Kawdara, and Mughal Masjid
Reason: Shutdown of Wanganpora Grid Station for maintenance works.
Date: October 19, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
Bemina, Parimpora, Children Hospital, and JVC
Reason: Shutdown of Bemina Grid Station for preventive maintenance.
Date: October 20, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
Bemina I, Bemina II, Moominabad Court Complex, and Batmaloo
Reason: Preventive maintenance at Bemina Grid Station.
Date: October 20, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
Karan Nagar
Reason: Maintenance work at Bemina Grid Station.
Date: October 19, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
Safakadal and Wanganpora
Reason: Shutdown of Wanganpora Grid Station for branch cutting and line maintenance.
Date: October 17, 2024.
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM.
Gurez, Peerbaba, Tragbal, and NHPC
Reason: Shifting of the 33 KV line at Thune and branch cutting along the 33 KV Gurez line.
Dates: October 16 and 19, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 3 PM.
Gagangeer, Sonamarg, and Surfraw
Reason: Shutdown of Kangan Grid Station for line stabilisation and maintenance.
Date: October 17, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 3 PM.
Nillow, Arreh, Begam, Sehpora, and Mohdpora
Reason: Branch cutting along the 33 KV line from Kulgam Grid Station.
Date: October 16, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 2 PM.
Powerhouse, Army, Hospital Pahalgam, Batkoot, Laddi, and Yenner
Reason: Improvement works along the 33 KV line from Aishmuqam to RMU Pahalgam.
Dates: October 16, 19, and 23, 2024.
Time: 10 AM to 4 PM.
Ahmednagar, Baspora, and Umerhair
Reason: Reconductoring of the 33 KV Alusteng-Zakura line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR.
Dates: October 19 and 22, 2024.
Time: 11 AM to 4 PM.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements during the power outage periods. KPDCL apologises for the inconvenience caused and assures the public that these shutdowns are essential for improving the electricity supply infrastructure across the region.
